On Friday afternoon, Jack visited the new Neurokinex centre in Bradley Stoke to learn about their programme that helps sufferers of spinal injuries to make progress beyond NHS targets through activity based rehabilitation.
Neurokinex was set up after a trader for Deutsche Bank slipped on the stairway at Farringdon Underground Station and broke his spine. After having revolutionary treatment in the United States that vastly improved his quality of life, he wanted to bring these treatments to the United Kingdom. It was amazing to hear that Neurkinex has helped many of their clients come off medication through their exercised focussed programmes, some of whom were on over 100 tablets per day.
Jack was alarmed to hear that spinal injuries disproportionately affect young men and he will be holding future meetings with the Neurokinex team to discuss how their programmes can improve NHS spinal injury treatments,
