Usually I write my columns on the basis of a local issue, or how a national issue connects to our local community, but this month I want to address the critical national issue of leaving the European Union.
Our area is one of the most popular places to live and work in the whole country. Our local economy is one of the few outside of London that pays more into the Exchequer in taxes than it takes out in Government spending.
The most powerful and impactful things in the world can often be traced to their local roots. Behind all of the worthiest projects are dedicated people whose efforts stand invisibly behind to create something spectacular.
