North Bristol NHS Trust Halts Frenchay Site Land Sales

Following intervention by me and my fellow South Gloucestershire MPs, Chris Skidmore and Luke Hall, North Bristol NHS Trust have agreed that there will be no future land sales until the much awaited BNSSG Clinical Commissioning Group’s assessment of community needs is published.

Melrose Bid For GKN

Following the concerns that have been raised regarding a proposed takeover of GKN by Melrose, I have written to Unite’s Assistant General Secretary asking him to notify any workers at the local Filton site of my offer to meet with them so that I relay their views to the Government.  

Staple Hill Community Hub

On Friday, I joined residents in Staple Hill for lunch at the Community Hub in Berkeley House. The lunch club is one of several groups that meet at the Community Hub with the aim of bringing together local residents, local businesses, voluntary organisations and community groups.


Following the recent news that Cribbs Sports and Social Club and Holy Trinity Primary School had been successful in their Aviva Community Fund applications, I visited Aviva’s headquarters in Stoke Gifford to learn more about their work within our community.

Institute of Coding

At the World Economic Forum in Davos, the Prime Minister announced a new Institute of Coding which will bring together university, business and industry experts to tackle the UK’s digital skills gap.
