From MBDA, Jack accompanied the Minister of Defence Procurement to Airbus’ facility for a tour of the manufacturing plant where the wings for the A400M Atlas are produced. Currently eight air forces have A400Ms in their fleet and this example of Filton craftmanship can be found at air bases from Malaysia to Turkey. Recently at the Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford, Jack had many conversations in which our local defence and aerospace industry was commended for its breadth of expertise and quality of its manufacturing.
Jack will be following up this visit with my work in Parliament by lobbying the Government to ensure that our area’s defence and aerospace industry continues to go from strength to strength with future Ministry of Defence contracts.
