Senior Citizens Advice and Information Fair 2018

I am hosting my first Senior Citizens Advice and Information Fair, which is open for anyone to attend. It is taking place on 1st November 2018, between 10am and 3pm at Lincombe Barn, Overndale Road, Downend, BS16 2RW.

The aim of the fair is to introduce support, voluntary and activity based services or organisations to senior citizens in the area. Those whom are seeking employment have the support of Jobs Fairs to help them gain information on employment, so I want to replicate that concept for my older constituents who may not be fully aware of the support available to them from the wonderful organisations out there locally.

The stalls will be a combination of intervention based support providers catering for some health or social care needs that unfortunately affect older constituents and active or community based groups that keeps people involved in everyday life. I welcome the families of senior citizens to come along and see what services can be provided for their loved ones.

Confirmed to attend so far are:

  • Age UK
  • Independent Age
  • Carers Support Centre
  • Southern Brooks
  • Shopmobility
  • South Gloucestershire and Stroud College - Adult Learning
  • Fours Towns Community Transport
  • Local community Policing team
  • Pensions Advisory Service
