Visit to Bristol Aerospace

A fantastic rest of Saturday at Bristol Aerospace.

They showcase the amazing local story from the inspirational Sir George White (founder of the aviation industry in Filton), to the iconic Concorde and our exciting #STEM future!

Downend Flower Show

Dropped into the Downend Flower Show at the Assembly Rooms during Saturday, there were beautiful displays.

Had a cup of tea and yes there was cake!

Bought one and took to my Mum later.

Patchway Fun Day

Many thanks to Cllrs Sanjay Shambhu, Brian Hopkinson (Charlton and Cribbs) and the rest of the team for running their stall at the Patchway Fun Day on Saturday.

A great afternoon, I really enjoyed it.

Visiting Wheat Fest 2019 at Wheatfield Primary School

Enjoyed dropping into the Wheat Fest 2019 Wheatfield Primary School, Bradley Stoke.

Congratulations to the Friends of Wheatfield School Committee for organising such a great and well attended event.

A debate on defence spending

At a debate today on Defence Spending I said that the MoD is the largest provider of apprenticeships in the UK, with our defence sector employing thousands more.

This is great for social mobility, our defence sovereign capability and the wider economy, including exports.

Abbeywood and Downend Schools visit Parliament

A pleasure to meet with inspirational students from Abbeywood School and Downend School on Monday as they visited the House of Commons and Parliament.

Both groups full of aspiring UK future leaders with some tough questions!

Filton Festival

Great to see recently elected local Councillor Chris Wood at the Filton Festival, in Elm Park on Sunday.

Great family afternoon in the park.
