A second consultation period has been opened by South Gloucestershire Council on their proposed changes to the library service. The Council has radically changed their plans following the initial round of consultation, and are now proposing an 'open access' system to enable libraries to be used for longer.
The Council have set up a page on their website to give more details of their proposals. This can be found at https://consultations.southglos.gov.uk/consult.ti/LibrariesPhase2/consu… There is a link to an online survey that can be completed to enable you to share your views. Alternatively, you can put forward your opinions via consultation@southglos.gov.uk, or you can call 01454 868154. Written submissions will also be accepted, these can be sent to FREEPOST RTCT-JXLE-EETT, South Gloucestershire Council, Corporate Research and Consultation Team, Library Consultation Phase 2, Civic Centre, High Street, Kingswood, Bristol, BS15 9TR. Alternatively, a paper survey can be picked up from libraries or One Stop Shops.
The consultation is open until 2nd January 2017.
