Last week Jack visited the Brooks Café at Coniston Community Centre in Patchway for breakfast before a day of constituency visits and surgery appointments.
Managed by Southern Brooks Community Partnerships, the café is designed to create a friendly space for local residents to meet up and for local groups to use during the day to host events. Jack spoke to a number of residents during his visit and they all said how much they enjoyed having a place to come to where they could pass time talking to their neighbours..
Southern Brooks Community Partnerships do fantastic work across the constituency with local groups helping to bring communities together. They run youth groups, a crèche, cafés as well as various programmes aimed at allowing everyone to live happier lives. Southern Brooks, along with lots of other charities and volunteer groups, help create the community spirit that makes us lucky to live in our area of the South West.
“We are lucky that we have so many amazing volunteers, such as those who staff the café, who give their time to better their community”, said Jack “I am sure I will be back to the café for breakfast soon and look forward to hearing of the successes of future projects ran by Southern Brooks Community Project.”
