Due to the nature of the types of case work Jack's office works on, we are frequently in contact with the Citizens Advice Bureau when trying to help constituents. To establish the best working relationships between our offices, Jack and his team recently visited the Citizens Advice Bureau in Staple Hill.
During their discussions with their General Manager, Chantal Watts, and Development Manager, Rebecca Brown, they found that we are approached by the public under very similar circumstances so by liaising we can try to improve outcomes for those in need.
During the meeting, Rebecca also highlighted her role, which involves finding funding for the Citizens Advice Bureau from a variety of sources. Jack recently visited the Society for Merchant Venturers in Clifton and discussed with their Treasurer, Caroline Duckworth, about the society’s charitable activities in South Gloucestershire. Jack has offered to support the Citizens Advice Bureau in their application for a grant from the Society for Merchant Venturers to ensure they can carry on their vital work.
Amazingly the bulk of the Citizens Advice Bureau’s activities are carried out by volunteers who work in their community to help their neighbours. If you would like to volunteer and can spare a few hours supporting the fantastic team in Staple Hill then please call Chantal on 01454 334960
