Poppy Appeal 2017 & Remembrance Sunday

The remembrance commemorations are, for me, a stark reminder that our freedom isn’t free and we should never take for granted the fact we live in a free and democratic country.

On Friday, Jack had the privilege of joining Stoke Gifford Royal British Legion, 2nd Stoke Gifford Girl Guides, Chelsea Pensioner Michael Allen and local residents to launch the 2017 Poppy Appeal.

Love Your Firefighters Reception

Jack met firefighters in Westminster last night to recognise and celebrate the invaluable work firefighters do keeping our communities safe. 

‘Love Your Firefighters’, hosted by the Fire Brigades Union (FBU), was attended by more than 60 MPs, who met firefighters and union officials. 

Neurokinex

On Friday afternoon, Jack visited the new Neurokinex centre in Bradley Stoke to learn about their programme that helps sufferers of spinal injuries to make progress beyond NHS targets through activity based rehabilitation.

Westminster Hall Debate on Defence Capability

On Thursday, Jack spoke in a Westminster Hall debate where he stressed the importance of adequate funding in ensuring that we maintain our defence capability as a free, independent, sovereign nation.

Shield Road Primary School Autumn Fair

On Saturday, Jack took a break from delivering his latest newsletter to visit Shield Road Primary School's Autumn Fair in Filton. This year the fair was being held in support of Brace Alzheimer Research, Headway Bristol and Filton Park Pre-School Playgroup. 

Fair Tax on Flying Campaign

On Wednesday, Jack met with representatives from the Fair Tax on Flying campaign to push for a cut in Air Passenger Duty (APD) in the Autumn Statement.
