NO TO SITA INCINERATOR
8 July 2009

Pilning and Severn Beach residents are being urged to join local campaigners, Jack Lopresti and Robert Griffin, in opposing plans for a large incinerator being built on our doorstep.

The private waste contractor, Sita, is planning to build a massive incinerator in Severnside – not too far from our homes.

Local campaigner Robert Griffin comments, “Like many residents I share concerns about potential emissions, drainage and the impact on the local environment. Particularly local wildlife as well as the quality of life for local people.”

Prospective Conservative MP Jack Lopresti added, “Judging by the proposed size of this incinerator, Sita’s plan seems to be to take rubbish from all over the region, which will generate even more pollution and do nothing to help our environment.”

Jack continued, “I urge everyone to sign our petition so we can make it clear to Sita that their incinerator is not welcome in our area.”
