About Jack

Charlotte LeslieJack was born in Southmead Hospital in 1969, and has lived and worked in the Bristol area all his life.

He is married to Lucy, and they live in Filton with their three children - Domenic, Sophie, and Michael - all have attended Patchway Community College. Lucy is a nursery nurse.

On leaving school, Jack worked in his family ice cream and catering business locally for over ten years. Post 1997, he worked in the financial services and residential property sectors, as a consultant and manager. He trained, and ran an office, in the Bradley Stoke and Stoke Gifford area.

Jack's other interests include Military and Political History. He is a member of the International Churchill Society and the General George Patton Historical Society, and has had an article published on General Patton who he regards as a personal hero.

He is very proud to serve in the 266 Battery, Royal Artillery (Gloucester Volunteer Artillery) as a gunner. The unit is based in Whiteladies Road, Bristol, and is affiliated to 29 Commando - supporting the regiment on overseas operations and training exercises.

Jack has returned from Afghanistan serving with the 29 Commando for a year which culminated in a 5 months tour in Afghanistan over Christmas and New Year.

Jack has also taken part in the Bristol Half Marathon running on behalf of several charities including Barnardos, the Julian Trust and The Army Benevolent Fund. Whilst in Afghanistan, Jack ran the Camp Bastion Half Marathon for Help the Heroes on New Years Day and is hoping to secure a place in next years London Marathon.

Jack was chosen by local party members to be the Prospective MP for Filton and Bradley Stoke in the summer of 2006.

Jack's Experience

Jack has been a member of the Conservative Party in Bristol for more than 20 years. He represented the Stockwood Ward on Bristol City Council from 1999 to 2007.

Jack was the Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Bristol East in 2001, and also stood for the South West Region at the European Parliament elections in 2004. Jack was selected as the MP for Filton and Bradley Stoke in May 2010.
